 My favorite pastime is  gardening.  In the winter, I  make do with  indoor plants, and wait for spring. I am planning a greenhouse so I can play in the dirt ALL the time! I have really enjoyed this summer. It has been an unusually  wet spring/summer in my area so the garden is doing very well!Loofah gourds are threatening to take over my place!! I love to grow any thing new and unusual. I do try to stay within range of what is native to my area. I am trying to pass this love on to my children.    As  we borrow the earth from future generations,  we need to be careful about the resources we take away.  I am watching the changing climate with some trepidation, but a rainy summer  is actually  a cool change from the usual triple digit dry summers of the last few years.   We are trying to become 'greener' and decrease our footprint as a family.
I am  married w/children, all boys. The oldest  is 22 and married. 2nd son is 20,  in college, 3rd son is 14, in high school  and our 4th son is 13 about to be a 7th grader. He is a nephew that has lived with us for several years. I love our family time and cherish the days of many boys tramping through my house!!

You get out of life what you put in.  If you want to be happy and at peace in your life,  sow the  seeds to that effect. , it's like gardening for the soul. I try to fill my days with a positive outlook, good friends and family. 
   I am interested in  Buddhism and admire the Tibetan people for their message of non violence. The Dalai Lamas message of kindness and compassion  speaks straight to my heart  We are all truly one, so compassion for others begins with compassion for your self.
